So what worked....


It was utterly random.




Checked the flash video I was trying to play and right clicked and clicked on "About Adobe blah blah"

It showed the version that was installed and the latest version.

It turned out I had an old version installed!!!!!!!!!

Reinstalling solved the problem.

In truth the problem might have been the cumulative manifestation of all the little problems.


But I'm just happy to get my sound back and hear my sappy song haha
