I have been wanting to try out the Ferdora 8 series for a while.. but as happenstance, my DVD cannot burn...

Well I screwed with the iomega Hotburn settings and must have corrupted the drivers, but that is another story =P

So I am like stuck with CDs even thought I can read DVDs. So this new site is a life saver!

The catch?


They are trying a new download technology.

Its supposedly better or less stressful on their servers than torrents???

Hmmm...


Anyway the new download method is jigdo.

Beware though, this one is still console based, at least the one I am using... and it does require you to be patient.


Not too much automation for deciding what you wish to download, but the download speed is decent, which may be due to my bandwidth =P

Running it I realised it is actually wget in disguise then!


this is strange then wget can achieve multiple downloads on the ftp.....


I suspect I missed out something on reading as usual....
